What Do You Do With A Bunch Of Apples?

Make applesauce of course! Yum! We bought 1/2 peck of Granny Smith apples today at the orchard and since I have been craving it, I decided to make applesauce. It is so delish!

Here's the recipe:
8 to 10 Granny Smith apples, pared, cored and chopped
1/2 to 2/3 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup apple juice

Combine all ingredients in saucepan; bring to boil. Cover, reduce heat and simmer 30-40 minutes. Stir occasionally. Place in blender to mix.

Apple Picking

We finally went apple picking today. We were debating about it this year with me being pregnant and all. I seriously thought all of the walking on uneven ground up and down hills would kill me. It actually didn't since I am alive and kicking! Landon had a blast at the apple orchard and I think he could have stayed there all day had it not been so cold. Here are some pictures:
Next year Jonas will be able to be in front of this sign too!
He didn't carry the basket for too long.
Posing in front of a tree. He would not climb into the tree no matter how much encouragement we gave him.

Proud of an apple he had picked.

Let The Candy Madness Begin!

Friday night we went to Boo in the Zoo at the Greenville Zoo. As members of the zoo we were able to go Friday night on Member Night. HAH! I honestly did not think there were that many members of the zoo! There were tons of people there but it was so organized and totally worth waiting in line for. Landon had a blast. Here is a picture of him waiting in line:
In addition to candy, Landon received some small toys. One of his favorites are his "funny glasses."

Worn Out

Landon has been cutting his naps out on the weekends. Trust me, I would love for him to still be taking them since that means I could take one as well. He has other plans. We try putting him in his room but he just plays and eventually asks to come back out. A plus to this? He is going to bed earlier. Case in point:

We ate dinner at normal time, but he fell asleep half way though. He sure had a death grip on his pizza though. We woke him up and plopped him in the bath tub. He asked to finish eating dinner, so after his bath he finished. Poor little guy...if only he would take a nap!

My Name is Jonas!

That's right! We have a name....Jonas Parker. Didn't take long huh? David and I had to have something since it was driving us nuts to keep saying "the baby." The song "My Name is Jonas" by Weezer keeps running through our heads now though.

Fun Fall Day!

Today was a fun Fall day. We did our typical grocery shopping as a family this morning. After getting home we ran out to the baby store to look around (found nothing we had to have), the toy store for a Thomas the Train play date, lunch out, and the pet store for some dog and cat food. On the way home we went by the pumpkin patch, or "pumpkin match" according to Landon. Here are some pics from there:

When we got home Landon had to carve his pumpkin. Here are the results:

I love Fall and all of the fun things that go along with it!

Seriously??

So, I had to fill out my 2nd referral for this school year today. While going down the list of options to select from as the main reason for the referral I came across something interesting. One of the options was Homicide. Are they serious? Are you telling me that if a child kills another child we have to write a referral for it? HA! The school system never ceases to amaze me with what they come up with.

Guess what! This time tomorrow we will hopefully know what we are having. The random district maintenance man told me today that I was having a girl. He could tell by the way I was carrying. Thanks random man! Good to know you were checking out my belly!

Have You Seen My Feet?

They are starting to disappear when I look down. YIKES! I am growing straight out instead of to the sides like with Landon. Wonder what that could mean??? So far this week I have felt like I have gotten HUGE! Good news is that a couple of days after Thursday I will be half way done. It is hard to believe I have gotten so far.

Landon is now under the impression that he is getting a sister. Thursday is the big reveal day. I cannot wait to find out if he is right or not. I am slowly thinking it might be a girl since I am growing differently this time around. Thursday cannot get here fast enough though.

Below is a video of the volcano I built with my class last week. It turned out great and I am so happy they were able to experience this. Ignore my stupid voice on there. I didn't realize how goofy I sounded until I listened to this video.
