Praise God!

We had our 3rd ultrasound for Jonas yesterday and received awesome news. The choroid plexus cysts that were found on his brain at the last ultrasound are all gone! This is definitely the news we were hoping for. We got some shocking news as well. Seems this "little" guy is measuring quite ahead of schedule. He is estimated to currently be 4 pounds 8 ounces. This is in the 74th percentile for his gestational age. YIKES! His head was measuring 36 weeks and his tummy 38 weeks (I am 2 days shy of 31 weeks). Talk about a big boy. We were able to get some great pictures though. I have a feeling he is going to look a lot like Landon!
Here is the front of his face. He kept opening his mouth during the ultrasound and was practicing breathing!

Santa Decided Landon Was Good This Year!

My child is spoiled! There are not other words to describe his Christmas experience this year. He got so many new gifts and is thrilled about all of them. Here are some pictures to give you an idea of how he spent his Christmas:
Here is what Santa left at our house:
Landon's expression when he first saw what Santa left. He was so cute, he stood there for the longest time just looking until we told him he could go play with his new toys.

Early Family Celebration and Cookies!

This past Saturday we went down to visit both sets of my grandparents. Talk about a busy day but I think everyone had a great time...including Landon. He got so many new toys that I am thinking Santa could just skip over our house. Landon begs to differ but Mommy, who has to find a place for all of the new toys, thinks so. I realized while going through pictures I stink at taking them because my only subject seems to be Landon. You will also notice below that he has developed that very cheesy boy smile.
Here are some of the cutest overalls ever given to Landon by my aunt and uncle:
Landon with his new monster truck also given to him by my aunt and uncle:
A new car case given to him by another aunt. He no longer has to use my pink Clinique bag to store all of his cars!
A road set given to him by my grandparents:
Having fun with his road set (looks like he is at serious work):
So, you can see a major theme in the toys. I guess my future hold lots more trucks and cars. You'll find very few girly toys in my house these days!

Speaking of Landon, I attempted to try the potty thing with him again yesterday. By 3 I had a full load of laundry ready to be washed and he had not gone in the actual potty once. I quickly gave up. What a weenie I know...but really running him to the potty every 15-30 minutes just to have him go in his pants a couple minutes later is not my cup of tea. I'm clueless about where to go from here. At this point he can just stay in diapers until he moves out! We did however manage to make cookies for Santa during the day:
Sorry sweetheart...that isn't a phone linked to Santa!
I have a picture like this of EVERY cookie Landon helped me make. He insisted I take a picture every time!
The result of the above picture:
Surprisingly, I didn't end up with sprinkles all over my kitchen:

Jonas is a busy body. My stomach is the newest playground in town I guess and this kid has taken over! Not only does it look like I have swallowed a watermelon (or two), he seems to be in almost constant motion. We have another ultrasound on the 29th and I cannot wait to see the little guy again. It is hard to believe that 9 weeks from Christmas he will be here! YIKES! My Mom and I started sorting clothes yesterday and I can surely say he will not go naked for the first 2-3 years of his life at least. I never realized buying baby clothes became my new hobby.

Not sure if I have mentioned it or not on here, but we have started going to a new church lately. And when I say new I mean brand spanking new as in we aren't even really a church until January. Things are still in the planning stages but are quickly reaching the major launch date of January 11th. We had a Christmas service this past Sunday night about HOPE and it turned out great! I was amazed at God's work in gathering so many people together. Check out Capstone's website for more information!

I guess that is enough of an update for a while. Stay tuned for more pictures of who else....but Landon. I will also be posting a picture later this week of my gigantic 30 week (WOWOWOW) belly. Also hope to be posting more ultrasound pictures of little guy next week. So much to look forward to!

Landon's Gingerbread House

David's Mom started last year making gingerbread houses with all of the grandkids. Landon was so excited about making his this year. Here is how his turned out:

Oreo Truffles

I'm sure tons of people are making these, but they are GREAT! The recipe comes from the Kraft website. Below is a picture of how mine turned out.

1 pkg. (1 lb. 2 oz.) OREO Cookies, finely crushed, divided
1 pkg. (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
2 pkg. (8 squares each) BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate, melted
Make It

MIX
3 cups of the cookie crumbs and the cream cheese until well blended. Shape into 42 (1-inch) balls.

DIP balls in melted chocolate; place on waxed paper-covered baking sheet. (Any leftover melted chocolate can be stored in tightly covered container at room temperature and saved for another use.) Sprinkle with remaining cookie crumbs.

REFRIGERATE 1 hour or until firm. Store any leftover truffles in tightly covered container in refrigerator.

Christmas Tree Ornaments

Jeanna posted about the ornaments she has for her two boys. I have been wanting to post some of my favorite ornaments since I put the tree up but didn't get the actual inspiration to do so until I saw her post. Here are some of my favorite ornaments...see a theme?
Here is the neatest idea I have ever seen for a snowman ornament. My parents gave it to us from their trip to Tybee Island:
My friend Wendy gave me this ornament. Looks like me huh?
I love this guy just because he is so unique. Last week though he tragically got his leg pulled off by Landon. Thankfully I was able to fix his "Uh-oh!"
Every tree needs balls. Mine have snowmen on them:

Eviction Date!

I went to the Dr. yesterday for my lovely sugar tolerance test and a normal check-up. Things are looking great and I find out Monday if I passed or if I have to go on and take the 3-hour test. My next appointment is Dec. 29th where I will get another ultrasound to check and make sure the cyst is gone on Jonas' brain. I cannot wait to see the little guy again and get more good pictures. Maybe they will be nice and switch to 3d again for me! :)

The best part of the visit was I scheduled my c-section! Jonas will be born February 26th! Yay! This means my last day of work will be February 24th giving me a day to get blood work done and last minute things together and then off to have Jonas. It is hard to believe I have less than 12 weeks before the little guy gets here. Yikes! Better get a move on with his nursery which is STILL a storage room at the moment.

Landon's "New" Bathroom

Well, I was getting tired of the bright green not jiving with the rest of our house so I decided to re-do Landon's bathroom. Well...me re-doing it really consisted of me buying a new shower curtain and picking out a paint color for my Mom to paint with. I did add my own personal touch to it though. This is the first time I have ever painted anything and I think it came out pretty good. Check out the pictures below.

Photo Album Tag

Tasha had this idea on her blog this morning so I figured I would take up the challenge. Here is my 6th picture from my 6th photo album on my computer. Here is Landon with his favorite snack, string cheese and milk. He looks so young here! This picture is from June 2007 so he was around 16 months.

I challenge anyone who reads this to post their 6th picture from their 6th photo album. If you do so, send me a message and I will check it out! Happy Saturday!

My Version of a Thanksgiving Turkey!

Yikes! Below is a belly shot of myself at 26 weeks. Also note the super stylish jeans! I love these things and they are super comfy as well!

Less Than 100 Days!

Holy cow! I am in the double digits as of today. 99 days to go. Technically less since I will be having a c-section hopefully the week before my due date, but officially I am in the double digits. Yikes! I feel so unprepared for Jonas. At this point, Landon's nursery was close to being complete. Right now, Jonas' nursery is still our storage room. Oops! I see a lot of cleaning and organizing in my future.

Halloween, Ho Ho Ho and More!

Wow it's been a while. A little over a month. I hope to try and keep this thing updated more, but not making any promises! Surprisingly, not a lot has happened over the past month. Landon has gotten bigger and so have I. His vocabulary has exploded and he shocks us each and every day saying new things. He loves to use the word "probably" when answering questions.

I am now 25 weeks pregnant. This pregnancy is flying by. Part of me is happy and part of me is sad. This will be our 2nd and final child. I am sort of ready for our family to be "complete" and sort of sad I will never experience the excitement surrounding bringing a new baby home, etc after Jonas. If I remember I will take a belly picture Thursday when I am 26 weeks. I have grown so much and a lot of people are having a hard time believing I have until the end of February until Jonas is here.

David's job is still uncertain. His company is still for sale but not sure what that means. They recently closed 250 offices around the US, thankfully not too many in SC. I am just hoping this is a wave we need to ride out and then things will be okay soon. There isn't much out there right now for someone with financial experience so he is pretty much stuck where he is for now.

Below are some pictures from Halloween (I know, I know...I'm a little late), Landon's Grampy chair and our visit with Santa.

Here is Landon's classic "smile" when I ask him to smile:

Here is Landon eating a snack in his Grampy chair. This is my Dad's highchair he used when he was little. What is so cool is that it fold out into a nifty little table.

Here is Landon's visit with Santa. We got there right after he left for dinner. Thought we were crazy for standing in line while he wasn't actually there but we ended up only waiting 45 minutes. Not bad at all. Landon walked right up to him and told him everything he wanted. I was so hesitant since he didn't want anything to do with Santa last year.

What Do You Do With A Bunch Of Apples?

Make applesauce of course! Yum! We bought 1/2 peck of Granny Smith apples today at the orchard and since I have been craving it, I decided to make applesauce. It is so delish!

Here's the recipe:
8 to 10 Granny Smith apples, pared, cored and chopped
1/2 to 2/3 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup apple juice

Combine all ingredients in saucepan; bring to boil. Cover, reduce heat and simmer 30-40 minutes. Stir occasionally. Place in blender to mix.

Apple Picking

We finally went apple picking today. We were debating about it this year with me being pregnant and all. I seriously thought all of the walking on uneven ground up and down hills would kill me. It actually didn't since I am alive and kicking! Landon had a blast at the apple orchard and I think he could have stayed there all day had it not been so cold. Here are some pictures:
Next year Jonas will be able to be in front of this sign too!
He didn't carry the basket for too long.
Posing in front of a tree. He would not climb into the tree no matter how much encouragement we gave him.

The hay spider.

Let The Candy Madness Begin!

Friday night we went to Boo in the Zoo at the Greenville Zoo. As members of the zoo we were able to go Friday night on Member Night. HAH! I honestly did not think there were that many members of the zoo! There were tons of people there but it was so organized and totally worth waiting in line for. Landon had a blast. Here is a picture of him waiting in line:
In addition to candy, Landon received some small toys. One of his favorites are his "funny glasses."

Worn Out

Landon has been cutting his naps out on the weekends. Trust me, I would love for him to still be taking them since that means I could take one as well. He has other plans. We try putting him in his room but he just plays and eventually asks to come back out. A plus to this? He is going to bed earlier. Case in point:

We ate dinner at normal time, but he fell asleep half way though. He sure had a death grip on his pizza though. We woke him up and plopped him in the bath tub. He asked to finish eating dinner, so after his bath he finished. Poor little guy...if only he would take a nap!
