Our New Swingset!

The time has come when we not only turn our house into play central, but our backyard as well! We found a swingset for Landon this week and have begun preparing the backyard for it. When I say preparing the backyard, I mean digging a HUGE hole in hard dirt all day long and still have more work to do. It's worth it though! Right now we still have a huge hole, but hopefully in a week or two (I'm being positive) we will have a full blown swingset. Anyway, here are some pictures of the swingset from the Lowes website. You will have to use your imagination some to figure out what it is going to look like.

A Day at the Columbia Zoo!

We went to the Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia and had a blast. We did several things we have never done before...we fed the birds and the giraffes and Landon rode on his first carousel. We had a blast! Here are some pictures, mostly of the animals since Landon was not being tolerant of us taking pictures of him.

Here's David feeding the birds. Here's he Koala Bear Landon kept asking to see over and over again.
Here's the lion. They were sleeping until some monkeys started making a TON of noise and woke him up.
Here's a picture of the tiger. Landon loved looking at him.
Here's a picture of some monkey.
Here's the gorilla Landon was afraid of.
Here's the stinky elephants.
Here's Landon on his first ever carousel ride.
Here's David feeding the giraffe.
Here's a lovely picture of a bird landing on David's head. He wasn't too thrilled.
Here's one of the few pictures we got of Landon and I.
Here's the stinky flamingos.
Here are some of my favorite flowers in the world...tulips.

Here's another picture we were fortunate to get of Landon.

Landon's Easter through Pictures

Instead of blogging on and on about the day, I thought I would show you pictures from the day and add captions so you get a taste of the fun we had!
Here's what the Easter Bunny left Landon.
Umm....what do I do with that thing? I'm still sleepy!
Oooh, a little Magna Doodle! I love it!
A new movie with all of my favorite characters!
Underwear??? You mean the Easter Bunny wants me to use the big boy potty too?
Now we are talking!
I LOVE everything the Easter Bunny brought me!
Which color to use first?
I choose them all!
Oooh, look at that masterpiece!

I had to work on Friday and the daycare was closed so my mom kept Landon for me. Being the good Grammy that she is, she dyed Easter eggs with Landon. Here are a few shots of the fun they had:

We are going to the Columbia zoo today so I hope to have a lot of fun pictures to share from that later on.

God's Creation---The Full Moon

Here are some pictures I took of the moon last night. All I did was crop the pictures, I have not changed the color or anything. I just played with the different settings on my camera and this is what I got. This is truly amazing!

The Difference Between Going Pee Pee and Tinkling

This morning Landon quickly showed me that there is a difference. This morning after watching David go tinkle I asked Landon if he needed to go. Well, he said "UhHuh!" We ran to the bathroom and I quickly whipped his pajamas and diaper off. I quickly sat him down and he instantly got upset with me. He said "No, tinkle mama!" He then stood up and grabbed his pee pee and acted like he was going to go in the potty. Obviously you sit down to go pee pee and stand up to go tinkle!

Change, change, change!

I surprised my hairdresser today by showing up claiming I wanted it all chopped off. She even went so far to make sure I didn't change my mind by cutting a huge chunk of it off before washing it. I love it! I am going to have fun doing it in the morning though trying to get it flipped under. Here is a before and after picture. It is kind of flat in the after picture because I had to go through the monsoon to get into my house!I am excited to see what my students have to say about it tomorrow. Landon loved playing with it but didn't say much about it. My mom picked him up for me today and said: "Mama haircut, Daddy pizza." LOL. Guess what we had for dinner! Pizza!

Movie Quotes!!

Okay, I got this from ohamanda and figured I would do it real quick while I am waiting on Landon to go to sleep.

Here are the rules:

1. Pick 10 of your favorite movies.
2. Go to IMDb and find a quote from each movie.
3. Post them here for everyone to guess.
4. Strike it out when someone guesses correctly, and put who guessed it and the movie.
5. No Googling or IMDb-ing. That’s cheating and that’s no fun.

1. I don't know if we each have a destiny, or if we're all just floatin' around accidental-like on a breeze. But I, I think maybe it's both.

2. I better have my lawyer take a look at these. I'm just a simple country boy. There's all kinds of big words in here I can't even pronounce. Hell, you might be takin' me to the cleaners for all I know. - Sweet Home Alabama guessed by Mom of TWO Princesses!

3. Dear Lord, we ask that you bless this food to the nourishment of our bodies. And we ask forgiveness, Lord, for the fornication that Mr. Sprock and me committed this morning on this very table. - Where the Heart Is guessed by Mom of TWO Princesses!

4. So, what's your number one? To marry in the church my mother grew up. It's where my parents were married. - A Walk to Remember guessed by Nikki

5. And then one time I ate some rotten berries. Man, there were some strong gases seepin' outta my butt that day!

6. You are absolutely, unconditionally, positively the most stubborn person I've ever known in my life!

7. Yeah. It's an outgoing message so I think you need to sound a little more outgoing.

8. Hello, my name is Norman Bulansky, welcome to my home.

9. I have to sew the duck's head back on... and fix his butthole. - Click guessed by mommeee

10. The price is wrong, bitch. - Happy Gilmore guessed by shananagins

Easter Egg Hunt Letdown and Monkey Joes!

We were hoping to take Landon to his first ever Easter Egg Hunt this weekend. Well, it was rained out on Saturday so we went to the new time and location on Sunday. We got there and I saw the fields full of Easter Eggs and immediately got excited for Landon. After getting his face painted and getting a balloon to tie onto his basked we waited patiently to listen to the instructions for the Easter Egg Hunt. We followed all of the instructions and headed to the field to find we were in the back of this HUGE crowd. There was basically a band of people in front of us picking up every egg in sight. Landon got a whole whopping two eggs. We will not be doing this next year, what a let down! Here are some pictures of him with his cute bunny face though. The one where David is holding him is after seeing the Easter Bunny. I was hoping to get an Easter Bunny picture, but he was afraid of him, much like Santa Claus.

After the huge letdown at the Easter Egg Hunt we decided to take Landon to Monkey Joes so he could jump some. He has a blast. I think him and David went up and down the slide a gazillion times. Here are some pictures from there.

After Monkey Joes, we went to my parent's house and let Landon venture through the woods. We got a couple of cute pictures from there. He loves to climb up the big dirt pile from when my parent's built their garage a couple of months ago.

Only a few more days until Spring Break! I have a workday on Friday and then the next week I have the entire thing off! YAY! I cannot wait for a much needed break. While I love what I do, I am getting tired and need a break. Summer cannot come fast enough.

The New Big Boy Bedroom!

Landon's furniture is here! We ordered his furniture back at the beginning of January and it has finally come in! He was thrilled about the fact that he had a new bed that was so much bigger. Here are some quick pictures.

We tried taking Landon to the Easter Egg Hunt, but it was canceled due to the impending rain. Well...we were at the park so we stayed and played for a while since it was warm and sunny at the time. Here is a picture of him drying the slide off for all of the other kids. His butt was soaked and covered in sand. Oh the joys of a boy! :) We hope to go to the Easter Egg Hunt tomorrow since it was moved to then. I'll post pictures if we get to go!

Playing Catch Up

Whew, it has been a long week. I have felt yucky most of the week with sinus related stuff. I made it through work all week even though I seriously thought about calling a sub on Tuesday. I made it though! I have a boat load of grad work to do, but found posting a blog more suiting at 6 o'clock on a Saturday morning. :)

Landon has had a rough two weeks at daycare. In the course of the two weeks, he has been bitten twice, scratched to where he still has the marks, and pinched! I was relieved to find out that one of the culprits experienced her last day yesterday at daycare and will no longer be a member of his class. I honestly do not think she was the only one doing these things. Time will tell though. Here is a picture of Landon's poor little arm with one of the bite marks on it.

I have only 4 more days of school with the kids and then I have 1 workday and then it will finally be Spring Break! I am so ready for a break from work. While I love what I do, it can be draining both mentally and physically. Some of my kids cease to amaze me each and every day in both their disabilities and what they are actually capable of doing. I can see so much progress in them this year and I could not be prouder!

One final thing...in case you were wondering what I look like most of the time I am posting, my Dad took a picture of me last week. Just thought I would share.
